A World Championship match, Oba Femi appeared live and more took place on the July 6 edition of WWE Raw.
Following the shocking ending to Night of Champions, which saw Sami Zayn win the WWE Championship, the new champion looked to celebrate his big win. However, on the next episode of SmackDown, Cody Rhodes defeated Jey Uso to become the new number one contender. The title match took place on Raw.
Additionally, Oba Femi appeared live following his latest confrontation with Brock Lesnar. The 2026 King of the Ring was interrupted by The Beast last week, setting up a Hell in a Cell match for SummerSlam.
WWE Raw Results July 6:
- Following a recap of Night of Champions and SmackDown, Gunther was seen attacking Cody Rhodes backstage. With Rhodes set to challenge for the title in the main event, his participation in the match was in doubt.
- Seth Rollins officially kicked off the show. Rollins spoke about his match with Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. Rollins noted that while Reigns needed to beat him, Rollins needed the win to prove that hard work pays off. LA Knight interrupted Rollins and said that he didn’t rely on nostalgia to get a title match. Jimmy Uso flattened Knight with a superkick.
- Bron Breakker and Austin Thery defeated The Street Profits to win back the Tag Team Championships. Maxxine Dupri got involved in the finsih finish, delivering a low blow to Angelo Dawkins. Dupri kissed Theory after the match.
- Cody Rhodes was unable to get cleared for the main event.
- Sol Ruca defeated Raquel Rodriguez to retain the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez tried to get involved, but were neutralised by IYO SKY.
- Paul Heyman spoke about the Hell in a Cell match between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi. Femi interrupted. Heyman called out Femi for accepting the challenge, noting that Lesnar has never lost inside Hell in a Cell. Femi responded that Heyman was scared and that he would end Lesnar.
- Ethan Page and Rusev defeated Dragon Lee and Chad Gable.
- Sami Zayn was informed that he would still defend the WWE Championship tonight despite the fact that Rhodes was not cleared. CM Punk made his return to a huge ovation from the Chicago fans. Punk won the match after hitting the GTS onto Zayn to become the new WWE Champion.
