Sheamus Moved To Alumni Section Of WWE Website

Sheamus has been moved off the WWE active roster page, seemingly indicating that he has left the company.

Fans noticed on Sunday night that The Celtic Warrior had been moved to the alumni section of the website. The update comes a few hours after news broke that Sheamus was set to depart WWE imminently.

According to reports, Sheamus was offered a new deal while recovering from injury, but turned down the offer. With previous departures reportedly leaving as they were offered pay cuts, it has been speculated that Sheamus, who had been with WWE for nearly 20 years, was also offered less money as part of the new offer.

As part of the F4WOnline update by Dave Meltzer, Sheamus was offered less money, as has been the case with other established talent:

“It’s identical to the Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods situation. The basic thing is TKO is in the business of paying stars incredible amounts of money who move business and less so in paying those who don’t move business, especially given Sheamus is 48 and has been hurt a lot. On a real sports team, those decisions are made all the time.”

If he has left WWE, he is now a free agent and can appear for any promotion he chooses as soon as possible.

Sheamus Leaves WWE Despite Recently Signing New Contract

The update on the former World Champion was surprising given previous comments he made regarding his status with the company. In a January 2025 interview with Chris Van Vliet, Sheamus stated that he had just signed a new 5-year deal, which would have taken him to late 2029 or early 2030:

“I just signed a new five-year deal. I’ll go until the wheels fall off. I’ll do it until I can’t physically do it anymore. I love what I do. There is plenty of time to sit back and read a book and watch TV. There is a lot of that.”
