The final episode of WWE Raw before SummerSlam, the July 28 show saw a title match, Roman Reigns making another appearance and more take place.
With SummerSlam set to take place this weekend, the show heavily focused on the upcoming Premium Live Event. With Gunther set to defend his World Heavyweight Championship against CM Punk at the show, both men appeared live for their final confrontation. Additionally, a stipulation was added to the Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross match and The Judgment Day defended their World Tag Team Championships.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves were on commentary for the show.
WWE Raw Results July 28:
- Much like the previous episode of SmackDown, a 10-bell salute opened the show to pay tribute to the late Hulk Hogan. Another video package aired to honour the Hall of Famer.
- Jey Uso officially kicked off Raw and spoke about his upcoming match at SummerSlam, where he and Roman Reigns will team up to take on Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker. Paul Heyman interrupted and spoke about their history together, leading to Uso stating that he and Reigns will win at SummerSlam.
- AJ Styles and The Kabuki Warriors defeated Dominik Mysterio, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. Styles pinned Mysterio ahead of their match at SummerSlam.
- Sheamus defeated Grayson Waller but was attacked by Rusev after the match. Sheamus vs. Rusev 3 will take place next week.
- Lyra Valkyria spoke about her match against Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. Lynch interrupted but was hit with a barrage of kendo stick attacks by Valkyria.
- Karrion Kross vs. Sami Zayn has the added stipulation at SummerSlam where Zayn must say “Kross told the truth” about him should he lose, while Kross must say “I was wrong” about Zayn if Zayn wins.
- Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, IYO SKY, and Nikki Bella defeated Chelsea Green, Piper Niven, Alba Fyre, and Naomi
- The Judgment Day defeated The LWO to retain the Tag Team Championships thanks to interference from El Grande Americano and another masked wrestler.
- Gunther and CM Puk met face to face one final time. Punk told Gunther he needed to be champion and that this was his addiction, stating that the champion would lose to the best in the world.
- Jey Uso defeated Bronson Reed via DQ when Bron Breakker interfered. Roman Reigns tried to make the save but the heels stood tall to close out the show.
