A new number one contender will be crowned and more on the March 9 episode of WWE Raw.
At Elimination Chamber, AJ Lee defeated Becky Lynch to capture the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Looking to be a fighting champion and in need of a new challenger, Lee’s next opponent will be determined by a gauntlet match. Announced to take part are IYO SKY, Bayley, Lyra Valkyria, Ivy Nile, Asuka and Raquel Rodriguez. Whoever is the last woman standing will get the first opportunity at Lee’s Intercontinental Championship. It has not been stated when the future match will be.
On the March 2 Raw, Rusev called out Oba Femi, resulting in Femi and Rusev brawling around the ringside area. It was later announced that Rusev and Femi will face off in what will be the former NXT Champion’s first official match on Raw.
While not announced, it is possible that more matches could be announced for WrestleMania on the show as the Premium Live Event in Las Vegas draws nearer. Currently, 5 matches have been locked in for the 2-night show.
