A match has been changed for the WWE NXT Homecoming special on September 16 due to injury concerns.
As announced by General Manager Ava on social media, Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has not been cleared to compete in the six women tag team match scheduled to take place on the show. Instead, former NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria will team with Rhea Ripley and Stephanie Vaquer to take on Fatal Influence.
Stratton was last in action on the September 12 episode of SmackDown, where she put her title on the line against Jade Cargill in what was a SummerSlam rematch. The match went to a draw when both women were counted out, which led to Nia Jax making her way to the ring and attacking both competitors, signalling that she also wants a title match with Stratton.
The match was set up last week on NXT when Women’s Champion Jacy Jaye claimed she was the greatest champion in the history of the brand, before being interrupted by Stratton, Vaquer and Ripley.
The Updated Line-Up For WWE NXT Homecoming Is As Follows:
- Rhea Ripley, Lyra Valkyria, & Stephanie Vaquer vs. Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley & Jazmyn Nyx
- NXT North American Champion Ethan Page defends against Tyler Breeze
- WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss defend against Izzi Dame & Tatum Paxley
- Trick Williams & Carmelo Hayes vs. Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa
