A match has been removed from the upcoming WWE Night of Champions show, leading to 2 bouts being added to the Premium Live Event scheduled to take place on June 28.
Multiple developments occurred on the June 23 episode of Raw in relation to the Saudi Arabia show. During a segment with AJ Styles, General Manager Adam Pearce informed Styles that Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio has not been cleared to compete, meaning that the title match will not take place this Saturday. Pearce added that Styles would still get his opportunity at the championship when Mysterio has recovered.
The first of 2 matches added to Night of Champions was announced later in the night. After losing to Randy Orton in the King of the Ring semi-finals on the June 20 SmackDown, Sami Zayn was interviewed backstage on Raw. Interrupted and mocked by Karrion Kross, Zayn finally laid out Kross and told him that they would face off at Night of Champions.
The second match added will see Rhea Ripley face off against Raquel Rodriguez in a street fight. The match was added to the PLE following a brawl between Rodriguez and Ripley on Raw.
The update also means that the Saudi Arabia show will have a 6-match card as opposed to the traditional 5 for the B-shows.
