WWE has confirmed that Carmella is no longer with the company.
On February 21st, news broke via Fightful Select that the former Women’s Champion’s contract had expired. Carmella had been away from TV for the best part of 2 years as she and her husband Corey Graves welcomed their first child into the world in November 2023. The now former WWE star was also battling with drop foot since giving birth, which delayed her return to TV.
The following day, the former Women’s Money in the Bank winner was moved to the alumni section of WWE’s website. Additionally, Carmella changed her social media handle to her real name Leah Van Dale and removed all WWE references from her bio. At the time of writing, Corey Graves still remains a part of the company and calls the action on NXT. Graves made his return in January after missing a taping following a social media outburst.
Along with winning the Women’s Championship and being the first-ever holder of the Women’s Money in the Bank contract, the former WWE star was also a former Women’s Tag Team Champion and 4-time holder of the 24/7 Championship, often appearing in entertaining segments with R-Truth.
Carmella Is The Latest WWE Departure
The news of Carmella’s exit comes a few days after multiple stars exited the company either via release or contract expiry. In the Women’s Division, Isla Dawn, Elektra Lopez, and Blair Davenport were all released while Sonya Deville was informed that her contract would not be renewed. Breaking silence on her release, Sonya Deville admitted she was shocked by the news.
