The WWE Elimination Chamber structure had quite the journey.
With WWE travelling to Australia to present the final Premium Live Event before WrestleMania, a lot of equipment had to be shipped down under from America. On top of the ring and staging that is required for a standard show, the 10-ton structure had to travel around the world to be constructed in Optus Stadium in Perth. While the initial journey seemed to be straightforward, plans were altered quickly.
As revealed at the start of the Elimination Chamber press conference, Michael Cole stated that it took over a month for the cage to get there as the ship was stopped by pirates. As such, the structure was sent back to America and shipped to Australia:
“A structure which took over a month to get here. Originally it was supposed to ship through the Suez Canal, but pirates ended those plans. So it was sent to Miami, transported via truck to Los Angeles, taken by ship to Sydney, and then by train to Perth.”
