According to various sources, WWE will be planning another draft in the coming months. The WWE draft is when the rosters for both RAW and SmackDown undergo a reset. All main roster superstars are placed into a pool and each brand takes it in turns to draft a superstar or team to their brand.
The draft has been rumoured to take place across two shows. Andrew Zarian is reporting that the August 30th RAW and September 3rd SmackDown will be the dates of the WWE drafts. Previous two night drafts have included pools of eligibility where only certain superstars can be drafted on nights one and two. The dates will be two weeks after SummerSlam, which takes place on Saturday August 21st.
Recently, Andrew Zarian has had a good track record of breaking stories for WWE. These have included the reintroduction of the Million Dollar Championship and NXT moving to Tuesday nights. Another reliable source, WrestleVotes, has also reported news regarding the upcoming draft. They are reporting that while not officially reuniting, all three members of The New Day may be on the same brand once again:
The New Day split was one of the biggest talking points from the 2020 draft. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were drafted from SmackDown to RAW. Big E remained on the blue brand and has since been competing as a singles competitor. Because these shows will be in front of fans and all shows will be moving forward, it appears that WWE are hitting the reset button on both rosters with this draft. Andrew Zarian has again tweeted what could be expected from the draft:
