Will Ospreay has finally gotten payback on MJF at AEW All In.
Competing inside Wembley Stadium for the second consecutive year, the British star defeated MJF to win the American Championship in front of his hometown crowd. Receiving a thunderous ovation from the London crowd, Ospreay’s entrance was inspired by Assassin’s Creed while MJF went full American for his entrance.
Although Ospreay got the early advantage, MJF grounded The Aerial Assassin to neutralise the offensive attacks. However, once Ospreay was able to regain momentum the pandering soon stopped. Just as it looked that Ospreay was going to hit a dive to the outside, MJF caught the challenger and hit a tombstone on the outside. However, this would also be to the detriment of MJF just moments later as he was hit with a Spanish Fly on the outside by the British star.
Following a series of high-impact moves that could only get a 2 count for either man, the match ended when Ospreay took advantage of a distraction from Daniel Garcia to hit the Hidden Blade and Tiger Driver 91 to win the match and the title.
After the match, Christopher Daniels presented Ospreay with the International Championship, rebranding the title once more.
Will Ospreay Finally Gets Payback On MJF
First winning the International Championship at Double or Nothing, Ospreay looked to elevate the title to new heights and add prestige to the championship. Following a string of victories, MJF defeated Ospreay on the 250th episode of Dynamite in a one hour war with just seconds to spare on the clock. Shortly after the victory, MJF rebranded the title as the American Championship and would insult the British people at every opportunity. Ironically, MJF has defended the American Championship in more overseas promotions than any previous International Champion.
The year before at the inaugural Wembley Stadium show, the British star defeated Chris Jericho and once again received a thunderous ovation from the London crowd.
