Further information has been provided on Roman Reigns no longer being advertised for upcoming WWE shows.
Over the weekend, news broke that Reigns was not being advertised for upcoming Raw dates in June, which would also include international shows. As reported by Dave Meltzer in a F4WOnline Daily Update, the reason for the schedule change is that Reigns is no longer set to appear at the upcoming Night of Champions Premium Live Event in Saudi Arabia.
Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show. If he loses the title next week, of course that would be a change and there will be more to the story. If he retains, that’s probably all it is. But Reigns is no longer scheduled for any television in June.
As Reigns is currently the World Heavyweight Champion, it appears that a title defence is not set for Night of Champions on June 27. The World Champion is also not scheduled to be a part of the Clash in Italy show in late May or international Raw tapings, which will include a show in London in June.
When Will Roman Reigns Next Defend His WWE World Heavyweight Championship?
The OTC is scheduled to headline Backlash, which will take place on May 9. Reigns will put the title on the line against Jacob Fatu after being confronted by The Samoan Werewolf on the Raw after WrestleMania.
At WrestleMania 42, Reigns defeated CM Punk in the main event of night 2 to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. The win marks the first time that Reigns has held a championship since WrestleMania 40, which saw his 1,316-day reign as Undisputed Champion come to an end.
