A previously announced title match featuring Becky Lynch was scrapped from WWE Raw.
Following the victory over Tiffany Stratton at No Mercy, Lynch was set to defend the NXT Women’s Championship on the October 2nd edition of Raw. However, hours before the show went on the air it was reported that plans were changed.
As reported by Fightful Select, the laceration that Lynch suffered on her elbow required 11 stitches. As a result, The Man was not cleared to compete on the show. This seemingly is the reason why Gunther defended the Intercontinental Championship against Tommaso Ciampa on Raw and not at Fastlane. The aftermath of the IC Title match saw the return of Johnny Gargano.
Lynch was however on the show and declared that she would be at the October 3rd taping of NXT.
