The surprises continued on the November 17 WWE Raw as Solo Sikoa faced a former World Champion as part of the tournament to determine who will face John Cena in his last match.
As part of The Last Time is Now Tournament, which will see the winner face John Cena in his final match on December 13, Sikoa was announced to be in action ahead of time against a mystery opponent that was revealed to be Dolph Ziggler, who currently wrestles in TNA under his real name Nic Nemeth.
Ziggler received a thunderous ovation when his music hit in Madison Square Garden, with Wade Barrett on commentary also screaming in delight that “Zig Man” was back in WWE. Unfortunately, for Ziggler, the crowd being behind him was not enough as it was Sikoa who picked up the victory to advance after hitting the Samoan Spike onto the former WWE and TNA World Champion.
Ziggler was previously a part of the company for close to 2 decades, but was released from his contract in September 2023. Following brief runs in New Japan and AAA, Ziggler made his debut for TNA in early 2024. As part of televised and hosue show matches, Ziggler has been in the ring with Cena 93 times.
This was the second surprise in The Last Time is Now Tournament, as Zack Ryder [Matt Cardona] made his return to the company on the November 14 edition of SmackDown, and lost to LA Knight in his return match.
Solo Sikoa Previously Secured A Dominant Victory Over John Cena
Like many of the entrants in the tournament, Sikoa is very familiar with Cena. At Crown Jewel 2023, Sikoa effectively squashed Cena after delivering multiple Samoan Spikes to the 17-time World Champion, much to the shock of the fans.
