More information has emerged on the status of WWE star Jacob Fatu, and when fans can expect to see him return from injury.
On the October 17 episode of SmackDown, the former United States Champion was attacked backstage, meaning that he was unable to compete in the main event of the show. With reports emerging earlier in the week that Fatu had been dealing with an injury, fans were doubtful that his advertised match would go ahead.
Although it appears that Fatu has been taken off TV until further notice, some more positive news has emerged on the SmackDown star. As reported by Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline, the company is expecting to see Fatu back in time for Survivor Series, which is scheduled to take place on November 29:
“It’s now looking likely Fatu will be back by Survivor Series weekend,” he writes.
It was also reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that a dental procedure is the reason why Fatu has not been cleared to compete.
Jacob Fatu Written Off WWE TV Due To Injury
It was originally advertised that Fatu would face Drew McIntyre on SmackDown. Despite the fact that there were injury rumours, WWE advertised the match as going ahead right until the final segment, which saw Fatu laid out by a mystery attacker.
As the match between McIntyre and Fatu was to determine the next challenger for WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, The American Nightmare instead faced McIntyre in an impromptu title match. The main event ended in a DQ finish when Rhodes struck McIntyre with the title belt.
