Drew McIntyre could become a free agent in a matter of weeks.

Ahead of WrestleMania 40 it was widely reported that McIntyre’s contract was close to expiring and that The Scottish Warrior had still not signed a new deal. Although many knew that McIntyre’s contract would expire shortly after Mania, no one was able to clarify when that would be. According to PWInsider, a source within WWE notes that McIntyre’s contract is set to expire in “5 to 6 weeks”, which is around late May to early June. Both sides have been in discussions for several weeks, but “have yet to get to the finish line on new terms.”

McIntyre had a very up-and-down WrestleMania as he became the World Heavyweight Champion at the event but lost the title in a matter of minutes after Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on The Scottish Warrior, who had been taken out by CM Punk shortly after his victory.

Will Drew McIntyre Be At Clash At The Castle?

WWE have confirmed that a major show will be taking place in the UK in 2024 as Clash at the Castle will take place in Glasgow on Saturday, June 15th. With the aforementioned report stating that McIntyre’s deal expires in early June, there are no guarantees that McIntyre will appear in front of his hometown crowd while still under contract with the company. However, heavily featured on the poster and expected to receive a hero’s welcome, many believe that they will see McIntyre perform at the event.
