What Was Tony Khan's Gift For Sting?

Tony Khan had a legendary surprise for Sting.

As seen on the October 18th episode of Dynamite, Sting announced that he will be retiring in 2024, with his final match taking place at Revolution 2024, 3 years on from his debut for the company.

Following the announcement, Tony Khan stated that he had a very special gift for The Icon on the October 25th AEW Dynamite.

Sting and Darby Allin made their way to the ring and were interviewed by Tony Schiavone.

Sting continued his thanks, including thanking Darby Allin, who had his arm in a sling. The Hall of Famer then turned his attention to Tony Khan, thanking Khan for 4 more years and getting to retire on his own terms.

Schiavone then introduced the surprise gift for Sting, The Nature Boy Ric Flair. The fellow Hall of Famer stated that Sting is a legend and that one of the nicest guys he has ever known. Flair then jokingly chopped Sting before being interrupted by Christian Cage.

Cage mocked Flair’s age and drinking habits before stating that Flair should have passed on 20 years ago. Cage turned his attention to Allin, offering a proposition. The TNT Champion pitched a 6 man tag, himself, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne vs. Sting, Allin and a partner of their choice.

It could be argued that without Flair, Sting would not be where he is today. Their match at Clash of the Champions in 1988 is widely regarded as one of the best in history.
