Danhausen has been notably absent from AEW for some time now, and he could be set to leave the promotion soon.
As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Danhausen’s contract was originally set to expire in the summer of 2025, but All Elite Wrestling elected to add on injury time to his deal, meaning that he is still under contract at the time of writing.
However, the latest update is that Danhausen could become a free agent in February 2026 as that is when his contract is set to expire, providing there are no unforeseen circumstances that would facilitate another contract extension.
The report also notes that the pro wrestler was previously looking to let his deal expire so that he would have more freedom with independent bookings and merchandise.
Danhausen Continues Absence From AEW TV
Danhausen has not competed on AEW TV since late 2023 as part of a battle royal, and has not competed in Ring of Honor since February 2024. He has been active on the independents throughout 2025.
The report also notes that he has not been backstage in “ages”, and that he is also not factored into any creative plans moving forward. It should be noted that this has been the case with previous talent who left the company, such as Ricky Starks, Mariah May and Ethan Page.
Danhausen became All Elite back in January 2022, when he made a cameo appearance during the match between Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy.
