The highly anticipated match between Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch has been delayed until the Raw after SummerSlam.
The match between the two former women’s champions will now instead take place on the August 14th episode of Raw, which will be in Stratus’ home country of Canada.
Lynch earned the right to have a match with the WWE Hall of Famer after defeating Stratus’ protégé Zoey Stark. A match did place between Lynch and Stratus on the July 31st episode of Raw, but this quickly ended in disqualification following interference from Stark.
In a backstage segment following the attack, WWE Official Adam Pearce stated that a rematch would take place on August 14th.
In a report by Fightful Select, the original plan was for Lynch and Stratus to have their match at the Payback Premium Live Event. It is also stated that Lynch is not due to take time off around SummerSlam.
The updated card for SummerSlam is as follows:
- Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
- Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor – Singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship
- Asuka (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair – Triple Threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship
