Triple H has named his dream WWE opponent if he were able to make a return to the ring.
The Chief Content Officer officially retired from the ring in 2022 after leaving his boots in the ring before night 2 of WrestleMania 38 kicked off in Texas. Prior to the segment, the Hall of Famer revealed earlier in the year that due to heart issues he would not be stepping back in the ring and was unable to compete anymore. The 56-year-old has his final match back in 2019 at a house show in Japan, with his final televised match being a win over long-time rival Randy Orton at Super ShowDown earlier in the year.
With Triple H now in charge of creative, The Game sees firsthand the stars of today and tomorrow and what they are capable of inside the squared circle. While he is unable to get back in the ring, The Game knows who the return match would hypothetically be against.
While appearing on Good Morning America, the Chief Content Officer was asked who from the current roster he would want to face if he could go back in time and have one more match:
“If I got back in at this point I’d be wrestling Father Time is what I’d be doing. Nobody, mostly me, wants to see me back in the ring,” he said. “It’s hard for me to say. I think if — in this moment right now, a current superstar — if I could go back in time and do what I did in my peak, it would be Roman Reigns.
“He’s a great guy, incredible talent, incredible performer. Out making movies right now, still a WWE Superstar but branching out into Hollywood. He’s going to be a massive, massive [star].”
Triple H Has Previously Faced WWE Dream Opponent
Triple H and Roman Reigns faced off in the main event of WrestleMania 32 back in 2016. The Game won the Royal Rumble match that year, which also had the WWE Championship at stake. Reigns defeated the 2-time Hall of Famer on The Grandest Stage to win back the title.
In a previous interview, Triple H explained how WWE responds to the online fans.
