Vince McMahon looks to have loosened his grip on the WWE creative process.
Following the announcement of McMahon retiring from WWE back in July 2022, Triple H was named as the new force leading the charge each week. However, upon McMahon returning at the start of 2023, notable “Vince-isms” started to pop up from time to time, including last-minute changes and script re-writes while the show was on the air. In the latest update, changes at the top have been made once again.
As first reported by PWInsider, Triple H has been “knighted” by the Endeavour group and is expected to handle virtually all of the creative process moving forward.
In a follow-up by Fightful Select, a higher-up within WWE noted that elements of the show such as matches getting more time and certain Superstars getting more screen time point to McMahon’s reduced involvement with the program. They noted that while it is not a direct correlation between these changes and McMahon stepping away, it seems more than a coincidence.
It is also noted that morale has increased significantly following the changes, with many feeling a sense of relief when they heard about McMahon’s retirement the first time back in July.
In regards to McMahon being out of the creative process for good, the unanimous thought is “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
