Tony Khan Confirms Chris Jericho AEW Status

Tony Khan has confirmed that Chris Jericho will remain a part of All Elite Wrestling for the foreseeable future.

Speaking on the media call ahead of AEW Dynasty, Khan stated that Jericho has signed a multi-year deal. After nearly a year away from TV, and with months of speculation that he might be WWE-bound, Jericho made his return to Dynamite on April 1 in his hometown of Winnipeg.

One week later, Jericho spoke more about his return and AEW, but was interrupted by Ricochet and the rest of the demand. After putting Ricochet on the list, Jericho announced that he would be facing the former National Champion at Dynasty on April 12.

Along with Jericho’s surprise return at the start of the month, Khan also spoke about upcoming events and the story that TNA have pulled talent from shows if they were set to face off against AEW stars.

When asked about Forbidden Door, Khan confirmed that the crossover event would be returning for 2026, and that Japanese promotion STARDOM would be involved.

During a separate interview with The Ringer ahead of the media call, Khan said the following about Nic Nemeth and Leon Slater being pulled from their respective matches against MJF and Ricochet:

“I was surprised because with MJF and Ricochet, they both talked to me about the matches. I said it was okay and they both told me everybody had gotten it approved. I guess somebody on the other side must’ve changed their mind, which is fine, they are entitled to do that. It doesn’t really change what we’re doing in AEW, but I know Max and Ricochet were both looking forward to their respective matches. I guess something might’ve changed. It sounds like it did. Hopefully, those guys are able to figure it out and put those together because the fans want to see those matches.”
