Tony Khan seemingly confirms that FTR vs. The Young Bucks will take place at AEW All In.
The news regarding AEW wrestler Cash Wheeler being arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a firearm stunned the wrestling world when it was first announced, throwing one of the biggest matches of All In into a state of uncertainty.
When specifics regarding the incident were later released, the biggest question still remaining was what does the arrest mean for AEW All In? With speculation spreading over whether Wheeler could travel or if the match would just be cancelled.
Speaking on a media call ahead of All In, Tony Khan stated that he can’t comment fully on the matter as it is still ongoing, but did comment that he is looking forward to the match, implying that it will go ahead:
“I can’t comment on the specifics at this time because I still don’t know everything,” Khan said. “I’m still learning facts, but based on the information we have at this time, we’re still keeping an eye on that situation, and at this time I think it’s a very inconclusive situation. It differs from other times, where we’ve come in and weighed in on a situation or acted on a situation based on the evidence, because in this case and everything we’re looking at, I don’t think we have those facts right now. At this point, I think it’s rather inconclusive. But I do very much look forward to the match, and we’ll keep an eye out throughout this week and as long as it’s a pending situation at what’s happening.”
Currently, there have been no updates provided by AEW following this, and the match is still scheduled to take place.
Features of Wrestling will provide any updates if/when they become available.
