TNA Wrestling has confirmed that Max Caster will no longer be appearing for the promotion following his controversial Bound For Glory appearance.
At TNA’s biggest show of the year, Caster performed a freestyle rap as he made his entrance. The former AEW wrestler made reference to the Riyadh, Saudi Arabia attacks during the rap, which many found to be insensitive.
On October 12, TNA issued a statement on social media on Caster’s comments. The promotion has taken responsibility and apologised for everyone who was affected by Caster’s comments. The company added that the segment has been removed from on-demand replays and from social media, adding that Caster will no longer be wrestling for them moving forward:
“During Sunday’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view, insensitive comments were made by Max Caster referencing attacks in Riyadh that killed and injured many people. Making light of violent attacks is wrong. This should never have made it into the show, and that responsibility is ours. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected. We sincerely apologize. We have removed the segment from replays and our social channels and are taking steps to ensure something like this never happens again. Max Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.”
In a report by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select ahead of TNA’s statement, it was stated that TNA had no knowledge of Caster’s comments ahead of time.
Caster’s appearance was in answer to Moose’s open challenge. Caster lost to Moose at the event.
TNA Cuts Ties With Max Caster
Caster is no stranger to controversy stemming back to his AEW days. Even though his raps became a part of his solo and The Acclaimed entrances, there were multiple occasions where the wrestler crossed the line. Previous topics of Caster’s raps included Simone Biles’ mental health issues, COVID-19 testing and the Duke lacrosse case. Additionally, Caster made a sexually inappropriate comment about fellow AEW wrestler Julia Hart.
AEW chose to let Caster’s contract expire, meaning he is now a free agent in the pro wrestling industry.
