Max Caster Issues Statement On TNA Controversy

Max Caster has publicly spoken on the controversy surrounding his recent TNA appearance at Bound For Glory.

The former AEW star made his first appearance for the promotion at Bound For Glory, where he answered Moose’s open challenge. However, as part of Caster’s entrance rap, the wrestler made reference to the recent attacks in Saudi Arabia, which killed more than 10 people and injured hundreds.

Following the appearance, TNA issued a statement apologising for what happened and added that they take responsibility for the segment. In addition to the match being removed from social media and on-demand broadcasts, TNA added that they will not be working with Max Caster again.

Max Caster Understands TNA Decision

Posting a video on social media in response to his appearance, the caster thanked company president Carlos Silva for the opportunity. The former Tag Team Champion apologised to those in the TNA office:

“Just to address all the TNA stuff, I wanna say thank you to Carlos Silva. I talked to him in person. He was very generous, very professional, even after all this stuff happened, and I understand why he did what he did. It’s his show. He’s gotta protect TNA and I went too far for him. So I wanna apologise to him and everybody else in the office. I want to apologise to anyone who vouched for him to get that spot. I feel like I let those people down. Thank you to Moose for sharing your platform with me and I wish things didn’t turn out the way they did, but I’m proud of that match and I’m sorry for how things have ended up.”

Caster then spoke about anyone who was offended by his remarks. The wrestler stated that it has never been his intention to offend anyone, but to entertain. Caster added he accepts the facts of the situation and thanked everyone who reached out in support:

“Then for anybody who’s offended, I just want everybody to know that when I do these raps, it’s never to offend people. It’s only to entertain. So in my mind, it’s entertainment value first, and then if you’re offended by it, that’s your right. So, I can’t apologise for anyone being offended. But just know that it’s not my intention to make people upset. If it gets a reaction, I think I did my job. It was a very relevant part of the show and highly talked about so I feel good about that, but the consequences of everything, I’m accepting that.

I can accept the facts of that. Then, to anybody who is asking if I’m good? I’m good. I’m just embarrassed how all this happened. You don’t want it to be one match and then that’s it, you get fired. But, again, that’s the reality of the situation. I’m accepting it and that’s life, and in life, sometimes, you gotta man up and just accept it and move on. So, whatever’s next, I don’t know but we’ll see. Thank you everybody who is reaching out and supporting.”

Caster’s AEW contract recently expired. There have been no further appearances announced for the pro wrestler at this time.
