The Wyatt Sicks are now the number one tag team on SmackDown after winning the titles on the July 11 episode.
Taking on The Street Profits on the final show before Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution, Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy won the match to secure the titles, which is the first for the group since they debuted more than a year ago.
The closing moments of the match saw Erick Rowan interfere and take out Angelo Dawkins at ringside. The distraction led to Montez Ford missing his frog splash, allowing Gacy and Lumis to capitalise and win the championships. This is the first time that Lumis or Gacy have won championships in their WWE careers.
The group made their debut on the June 17 2024 WWE Raw episode following multiple teases in previous weeks. Along with Gacy, Lumis and Rowan, the group also features Nikki Cross and is led by Uncle Howdy, played by Bo Dallas. The group were originally on Raw but made the move to SmackDown in late 2024. The Wyatts were also kept off TV until May, repotedly due to Dallas suffering an injury.
The Wyatt Sicks Bring The Street Profits Reign To An End
The title change brings Ford and Dawkins’ reign to an end at 119 days. The Profits won the championships back in March during an episode of SmackDown that aired live from Barcelona, Spain. The duo also notably defended their titles in a TLC match on the SmackDown after WrestleMania that is easily the best WWE TV match of the year so far.
