The Miz Names His Favourite WWE Royal Rumble Moment

Former WWE Champion The Miz has looked back on his time in the Royal Rumble match and has named the one he is most proud of.

Having been part of WWE for the best part of 2 decades, The A Lister has also had his fair share of Royal Rumble moments over the course of his pro wrestling career. Likely set to enter the match for the 17th time on January 31, Miz has not had the best track record in the match, as he only has 2 eliminations to his name in that time. However, in 2021, he did have a memorable moment with Bad Bunny, which became the precursor to Bad Bunny’s in-ring debut at WrestleMania 37 later in the year.

Although Miz has yet to add the Rumble to his list of accolades, the former World Champion does have one match which he regards much more fondly than others.

The Miz Names 2012 As Favourite WWE Royal Rumble

While speaking with ESPN’s GetUp, Miz was asked which Rumble remains a standout moment to him, to which the 2-time Grand Slam Champion looked back to his lengthy stint in the 2012 match:

“In 2012, I was the first participant, which is the worst spot you can possibly be in because you have to be in there the longest. You want to be number 30. I was number one, was in there for 45 minutes. Almost won but did not, that was a pretty great moment for me to last as long as I did, not many Superstars are able to do that, especially being the first entrant.”

Miz also spoke about his fondness for the event, saying that it was his favourite growing up. When asked for his picks for the Men’s and Women’s match, Miz predicted that Gunther and Asuka would be the last ones standing.

Miz was the Iron Man in that year’s Rumble as he lasted the longest before being eliminated by The Big Show. The 2012 match was won by Sheamus.

In another interview to promote the event, Liv Morgan named her favourite Royal Rumble she had been a part of.
