A major update has been provided on where things stand between Joe Hendry, his current employer, TNA, and what appears to be his future home, WWE.
Capitalising on a breakout 2024, Hendry has made his WWE presence even greater in 2025. Along with surprise appearances in the Royal Rumble match and being revealed to be Randy Orton’s mystery opponent at WrestleMania 41, the former TNA World Champion has been popping up more regularly on NXT programming, most recently at the Homecoming special in a backstage segment that also featured Bobby Roode.
Much like Jordynne Grace, it appears inevitable that the Scottish wrestler will be WWE-bound when his contract expires. However, following another update, it looks like that day has pretty much arrived.
Joe Hendry “Phased Out Of TNA” Ahead Of Joining WWE
As reported by Jon Alba on The Takedown On SI, Hendry is in the process of being phased out of TNA storylines and being integrated into WWE creative. The internal belief is that Hendry will officially be a member of the WWE roster by early 2026. However, when asked about the current relationship by Alba, TNA President Carlos Silva stated that Hendry is still under contract with the promotion and that he is being used in NXT as part of the talent exchange system that has been utilised over the past year plus.
With Hendry being a viral sensation in 2024 and popular among fans in attendance and online, it was inevitable that one day he would become a permanent part of the company.
