The Dudleys Retire At TNA Bound For Glory

Bubba Ray and D-Von, collectively known as The Dudleys/Team 3D, have competed in their final match at TNA Bound For Glory.

At TNA’s biggest show of the year, the Hall of Famers took on fellow legendary tag team The Hardys in what was advertised as “One Final Table.” Following the loss to The Hardys, Team 3D handed their boots to their longtime rivals, signalling that their in-ring careers had come to an end. All 4 men embraced and The Hardys celebrated their victory to close out the post-match segment.

Unsurprisingly, both teams got a great reception from the live fans, especially as Spike Dudley/Brother Runt made a cameo appearance with The Dudleys, while Matt and Jeff brought ladders and chairs to the ring, signalling that this would be more than a standard tables match.

Jeff Hardy was the first to be eliminated after being hit with a 3D from the Hall of Famers, with D-Von going through a table shortly afterwards, after Jeff hit a Swanton Bomb off the ladder. Bubba tried to fight off The Hardys, but ultimately gave up and accepted his fate. The Hardys gave Bubba a double chokeslam through the table to win the match and retain their TNA and NXT Tag Team Championships in the process.

The Dudleys Call Time On Legendary Career At TNA Bound For Glory

The most decorated tag team in pro wrestling history, Bubba Ray and D-Von first made their name in ECW before later signing with WWE in the late 90s. The duo are best known for their rivalries with The Hardys and Edge and Christian, which saw all 6 men battle it out in the first iterations of the TLC match, which became a major turning point in all of their careers. Leaving WWE in 2005, The Dudleys made their TNA debuts later that year, remaining with the company for close to a decade.

With Tag Team Title reigns in ECW, WWE, NJPW and TNA, The Dudleys have held gold more than 20 times throughout their careers.
