Controversial professional wrestler and former TNA World Champion Tessa Blanchard made her return to the promotion at Final Resolution.
During Jordynne Grace’s match with Rosemary at the show, a hooded figure attacked Grace. Removing the hood, it was revealed that Blanchard had indeed returned to the promotion following rumours that the former World Champion was set for an imminent comeback. In a backstage interview segment that followed, Blanchard declared she was back before shoving the interviewer and storming out of the venue.
Back in 2020, Blanchard defeated Sami Callihan to become the first female Impact World Champion. However, during her time in the promotion, Blanchard became the subject of numerous issues. Prior to her title victory, Blanchard faced allegations of racism and bullying from other wrestlers. Additionally, while reigning with the title, Blanchard would not show up to tapings due to the COVID 19 pandemic and would also not send in video promos to help along her storylines. Blanchard was set to make a final appearance at Slammiversary before her contract ran out but when it became clear that she would not be appearing, her contract was terminated.
Blanchard’s return was known ahead of time thanks to reports in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Fightful Select. As expected, the move was met with immediate fan backlash and many within TNA were not aware of the return ahead of time.

Following the attack, Grace appeared in a backstage promo and let her feelings be known about Blanchard:
“I’ve known for a while that Tessa was ignorant, but what I didn’t realize is that she’s actually a complete idiot. Coming back after all this time, after abandoning this company to try to make a statement and using me as an example. Tessa, a lot has changed since you’ve been gone. You’re going to realize very quickly that you made a huge f***ing mistake.”
It should be noted that in reports prior to Blanchard’s return it was stated that Grace “pushed back” on the idea of working with the former World Champion.
