Sting Signs Multi-Year AEW Deal

Sting

Sting will be a part of AEW for many years to come.

Following on from his in-ring retirement earlier in the year, The Icon has only appeared once since when he came to the aid of Darby Allin at All In. However, according to the former Tag Team Champion, more appearances are set to come either onscreen or to promote the brand.

While speaking with Kayfabe FriendsSting stated that he had a multi-year deal in place with AEW for licencing and one off appearances, effectively the promotion’s equivalent of the WWE legends deal:

“I signed a multi-year deal with AEW. Obviously, not to wrestle anymore, it’s like a licensing deal, a legends deal if you want to call it that,” he said. “I’ll do appearances with them on and off depending on what they want and all.”

Sting Competed For The Final Time At AEW Revolution 2024

3 years on from his first match in the company, The Icon took part in his final match at the Revolution pay-per-view back in March. Teaming with Darby Allin one final time inside the legendary Greensboro Coliseum, the Tag Team Champions defeated The Young Bucks in an anything goes match to retain the titles, which were vacated following the victory. The Hall of Famer was also given the opportunity to say a lengthy goodbye when all was said and done in the ring. Sting also ended his AEW run undefeated with 28 consecutive victories in the promotion.
