Stephanie Vaquer has competed in her first match for WWE.
The former CMLL and NJPW star made her debut at a WWE live event in Mexico City, Mexico against Isla Dawn, one half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Vaquer defeated Dawn and cut a promo after the match stating how happy she was to be a part of the WWE family.
Vaquer is set to make her televised debut on NXT imminently.

Before signing with WWE, Vaquer’s final match saw her compete against Mercedes Mone at AEW Forbidden Door, where Vaquer dropped the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship to The CEO.
Stephanie Vaquer Made A Controversial Journey To WWE
Prior to the WWE house show appearance, it was announced via a joint press release from CMLL and NJPW that Vaquer would be leaving both promotions effective immediately and was stripped of the CMLL Women’s and Women’s Tag Team Championships. The abrupt departure also meant that the former CMLL star was unable to make appearances later that week despite being heavily advertised to appear ahead of time. Following the exit, many had speculated that AEW or WWE would be Vaquer’s new home, with Shawn Michaels later confirming the signing. In a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that Vaquer never took AEW as a serious offer:
“Several sources close to the situation said that she didn’t seriously consider AEW. As someone who grew up watching WWE on television in Chile, that was her goal. In 2018, she got a tryout in Chile, but WWE decided against signing her. That was a long time ago and wrestling on the Chilean scene is a long way from the wrestler she is now having worked major matches throughout the world.”
