Shotzi Blackheart Clarifies Independent Wrestling Future Following TNA Signing

Shotzi Blackheart TNA

Shotzi Blackheart has commented on her recent signing with TNA and what it means for her time on the indies moving forward.

TNA announced that Blackheart was the newest member of the roster on October 19 after it was reported the previous week. The former WWE star is set to make her debut in the coming weeks after being featured in the post-Bound For Glory TV tapings.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio after the signing was confirmed, Blackheart confirmed that although she is very excited to be a part of TNA, she will also be very active on the independents:

“I’m still gonna be busting my butt on the indies, taking as many bookings as possible and just having a good time. But yeah, TNA is where I’m at, and I’m hoping to do some really fun things at TNA. I’m really excited to work with all the girls there.”

Why Shotzi Blackheart Signed With TNA

When asked about why TNA was the right fit, the newest signee responded that it has been a long time coming, referencing her previous time with the promotion. Blackheart also admitted that there have been doubts in the past, but her consistency has enabled her to make it:

“It has been a long time coming. I had a couple matches back in like 2019, maybe 2018, with TNA, hoping I would become a Knockout then. And I’m finally here, and it feels good. I’ve definitely had my ups and downs. Definitely had my doubts. But I feel like consistency is key, and eventually you get your day if you just stay consistent. So that’s just what I kept telling myself, even when I felt like my career was going into the gutter. I just was like, if I just stick with it, I will get my moment.”

Blackheart is best known for her time in WWE, where she held the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships. Blackheart first joined WWE back in 2019 and remained with the company until May 2025. Blackheart’s contract expired and was not renewed, making her a free agent.

Following her WWE exit, Blackheart has made multiple appearances on the independent circuit as well as for MLW.
