Sheamus is the latest WWE star to sign a new contract.
The news was first broken on The Pat McAfee Show, with the former Raw announcer confirming that The Celtic Warrior had signed an extension with the company:
“We have some breaking news out of WWE. Ladies and gentlemen, when Drew McIntyre re-signed with the WWE they had The Rock announce it. It’s not The Rock, but it’s certainly one of our lads. We are incredibly lucky to announce that Mr. Banger after Banger himself, Sheamus, The Big Fella, has officially signed an extension with the WWE.”
McAfee and the rest of the team praised the former WWE Champion for his work and his accomplishments over the past 17 years and how they are friends with Sheamus on a personal level. The Raw star recently travelled to Dubli with McAfee and co to promote the upcoming ESPN College Gameday show.
Further details on the deal were reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select. In regards to the new contract, it is said to be a multi-year deal and was initially set to expire earlier in the year but injury time was added on.
Sheamus Joins Multiple Top WWE Stars Who Have Re-Signed With The Company
As 2024 rolls on more and more top stars within the company have elected to re-sign with WWE to remain with the promotion for the foreseeable future. As mentioned by McAfee, Drew McIntyre re-signed with WWE earlier in the year and was congratulated on the decision by The Rock. Other top stars who have also committed to new deals include former WWE Champion Seth Rollins and current WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
