Following months of speculation about McIntyre’s future, The Scottish Warrior has confirmed that he will be remaining with the company for the foreseeable future. McIntyre’s contract had been heavily discussed as it was common knowledge that it was close to expiring and there was a level of uncertainty as to whether or not the 3-time World Champion would remain.

The news was first broken on The Rock’s Instagram, accompanied by a video that sees McIntyre presented with a new sword. Rock provided a congratulatory message as a caption:

It is reported that WWE reached out to McIntyre in March and a new deal was finalised recently. It is also stated that there was “a lot of back and forth” and that it is a “multi-year, big money deal.”
