Shayna Baszler Announced For First Post-WWE Match

Former WWE and MMA star Shayna Baszler has been announced for her first match since being released from the company earlier in the year.

As announced on August 26, Baszler will be getting back into the ring on Sunday, October 5 for Prestige Wrestling’s Roseland XII. Baszler’s opponent for the show will be TNA star and former Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich.

In addition to Baszler and Slamovich, AEW star Danhausen and former WWE Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers [Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows] are set to appear.

Baszler was among the releases announced at the start of May that also included Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai and NXT rising star Cora Jade. On August 2, the released stars all became free agents, meaning that they were then free to compete at other promotions. On top of being the first-ever two-time NXT Women’s Champion for WWE, Baszler was also a former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Nia Jax.

Baszler’s final match for WWE took place on April 11, where she teamed with Zoey Stark in a tag team gauntlet match. Since then, the former WWE star also competed at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, beating Konami to remain undefeated at the event. Baszler previously defeated Slamovich at the 10th iteration of Bloodsport back in 2024.

Could Former WWE Star Shayna Baszler Join AEW?

Given Baszler’s starpower and her previous alliance with Marina Shafir, who is signed to AEW and is part of The Deathriders, there has been speculation that The Submission Magician could become All Elite sooner than later. In a recent interview, Shayna Baszler addressed the possibility.
