Joe Hendry has made his highly-anticipated return to WWE NXT.
Revealed to be the mystery partner for Trick Williams in the main event of the July 9th episode, the TNA star received yet another thunderous ovation from the live crowd as his music rang out through the arena. Hendry was given the full entrance for his return appearance as everyone in the arena sang along with Booker T seeming less than impressed with the Hendry fans.
Hendry and Williams defeated Shawn Spears and new NXT Champion Ethan Page on the show with Hendry picking up the victory with the Standing Ovation slam onto Spears. Page was chased away from the ring by Meta-Four’s Oro Mensah, leaving Spears at a 2 on 1 disadvantage and allowing the babyfaces to capitalise. Both men celebrated as the show went off the air.
Joe Hendry Makes Triumphant Return
Following on from his brief appearance on the June 18th episode of NXT, fans have been desperate to see Hendry back on WWE programming in a more featured capacity due to his popularity both in and out of the ring. The closing shot of NXT Heatwave saw Hendry’s face flash up onscreen, signalling an inevitable return at some point in the future. With the TNA star’s face also flashing up on a commercial for NXT the next night, fans very much expected to see Hendry on the show.
While Booker T remained less than impressed, the NXT Universe proved that they do believe and hope that Hendry will once again return.
