Rusev Denies Rumour On AEW Losses

Rusev has responded to the rumour that he did not want to take any losses while in AEW.

The former Miro was a part of All Elite Wrestling from September 2020 until early 2025, which led to his return to WWE shortly after WrestleMania 41. During his time in AEW, the former TNT Champion had notable periods of absence with no explanation as to why he was off TV.

A rumour later materialised that Rusev did not want to take any losses in AEW, which also evolved into Malakai/Aleister Black being included in that category. When asked about the rumour, the WWE Raw star stated that there was no proof to the claims.

Speaking with Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling, Rusev stated that the rumours were spread by “one person”, before bringing up some of his losses while in AEW:

“There’s a lot of rumours out there, but the problem is that a lot of these rumours are spread by one person, by these dirt sheets, so-called dirt sheets. And they have no evidence, no proof, right? They just can go out there, run a story, and nothing can be traced back to them. ‘Oh, I heard, I saw … ‘Clearly, if you judge, just by this run, obviously that doesn’t make any sense. Clearly when I lost [the title to] to Sammy Guevara, that didn’t make any sense. When I lost to Daniel Bryan right after, that didn’t make any sense. When I lost to whoever. So let the people go back and review whatever and we can talk about that. But losing now is part of the business. Not everyone wins every week.”
