Rumoured John Cena Plans For WWE Survivor Series

John Cena could make history one more time at the upcoming WWE Survivor Series PLE if the latest rumours are indeed true.

At the time of writing, Cena only has 2 matches left on his farewell tour, one at Survivor Series on November 29, and the final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. With Cena away from TV since his most recent match against AJ Styles at Crown Jewel, there is currently no confirmation as to who the 17-time World Champion will face at the long-running event. However, according to the latest update, Cena could win one more championship before his in-ring career comes to a definitive end.

As reported by Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletterthe current plan is for Cena to face and defeat Dominik Mysterio at Survivor Series to become the new Intercontinental Champion, and will put the title on the line against Gunther in his final match:

As of a few weeks ago, the plan was for John Cena to defeat Dominik Mysterio for the WWE Intercontinental Title at Survivor Series. Cena would then defend the IC Championship against Gunther in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

It has been previously reported that The Ring General is heavily rumoured to be Cena’s final opponent in December. It has also been speculated that Cena could also be a part of the WarGames match as part of the show.

John Cena Could Become Grand Slam Champion At Survivor Series

Much like Sheamus, Cena has famously never held the Intercontinental Championship in his extensive and historic career. If Cena does defeat Mysterio, he will have achieved every accolade there is to obtain in WWE aside from winning the King of the Ring tournament.

Currently, Mysterio is a heavy favourite to win his upcoming match against Penta and Rusev at the November 1 Saturday Night’s Main Event special.
