Rumour Killer On AEW Star Britt Baker

Rumour Killer On AEW Star Britt Baker

Clarification has been provided on the status of former AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker following previous rumours concerning the wrestler.

Rumours began to circulate that Baker had left All Elite Wrestling and was set to sign with WWE after Jonathan Coachman claimed this to be the case on his Behind The Turnbuckle podcast. With Baker not seen on TV for a number of months and the promotion having a history of keeping stars off TV who are on their way out, such as Mariah May, Ricky Saints and The Lucha Bros, some have theorised that there may be something to Coachman’s statement. However, a follow-up report on the matter has provided more insight.

As reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select on June 17th, Baker is still under contract with AEW and signed a 5-year deal back in 2021, meaning that she will be a part of the promotion until next year at the earliest. It is also noted that injury time being added on could also be a possibility.

In response to the rumour of a potential WWE signing, one source told Fightful that Baker was always a welcome face when visiting shows previously, but there have not been any discussions about a potential signing.

Fightful also adds that there have not been any discussions for creative plans for Baker.

When Did Britt Baker Last Wrestle In AEW?

Baker’s last match took place on the November 13th 2024 episode of Dynamite, which saw the former Women’s Champion defeat Penelope Ford.

Britt Baker was recently challenged to a high-stakes match by former rival Thunder Rosa.
