Roman Reigns will once again fight for a World Championship at WrestleMania as he is the winner of the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble.
The last man standing in the main event of the show, Reigns eliminated Gunther to win the match for the second time in his career. Reigns entered at 26 and was ultimately the victor after hitting a spear onto Gunther to throw The Ring General out of the match. Gunther competed earlier in the night against AJ Styles, picking up the victory and retiring The Phenomenal One.
Other notable highlights from the match included appearances from Mr. Iguana and LA Parka from AAA, along with number 2 entrant Bron Breakker being attacked by a mystery wrestler before being thrown into the ring and quickly dumped out by number one entrant Oba Femi, who was eliminated by Brock Lesnar.
Reigns now has the choice of facing WWE Champion Drew McIntyre or World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, assuming that both men remain champion by the time that the eventrolls around. Whoever Reigns doesn’t choose will put their title on the line against the winner of the Elimination Chamber, which will take place in late February.
Roman Reigns Receives More Positive Reaction With 2026 Royal Rumble Win
Reigns previously won the Rumble match back in 2015. However, unlike his second win, fans were much more negative on The Big Dog being the last man standing. Taking place at a time when fans made it clear that they wanted anyone but Reigns to win the match, the company ignored the fans’ wishes and made Reigns the victor. A Rumble win that was so rejected that even The Rock couldn’t get a cheer from the crowd, Reigns’ previous Rumble win is regarded asone of the worst in the events near 40 year history.
