The road to WrestleMania 42 officially begins with the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble.
The 39th iteration of the popular Premium Live Event aired live from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, January 31, marking the first time that the show has been held outside of North America.
Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Charlotte Flair all looked to tie the recordfor most Royal Rumble wins, while Jey Uso looked to win the match for a second year in a row, along with the likes of Oba Femi and Bron Breakker looking for their first Rumble wins.
Along with the Men’s and Women’s Rumbles, Drew McIntyre put his WWE Championship on the line against Sami Zayn, and AJ Styles put his career on the line against Gunther.
Michael Cole and Wade Barrett were on commentary for the show with Mark Nash serving as the ring announcer.
WWE Royal Rumble 2026 Results:
- Liv Morgan won the Women’s Royal Rumble match
- Gunther defeated AJ Styles, meaning that AJ Styles must now retire
- Drew McIntyre defeated Sami Zayn to retain the WWE Championship
- Roman Reigns won the Men’s Royal Rumble match
