Ricky Starks is officially a part of the WWE roster.
Appearing in the crowd shortly before the main event of the February 11th episode of NXT, Starks received a huge reception from the fans, who were genuinely shocked to see the former AEW star at the show. Starks stated that it is obvious fans know who he is and that NXT needs a star of the future and the hottest free agent in wrestling. Concluding Starks stated “Everyone’s been begging the question, when will the revolution be televised again? I’m here, ain’t I?” Starks then made his way back up the stairs to close out the segment.
It should be noted that neither commentary or the YouTube video of the debut mentions Starks directly by name, meaning that it is likely that a name change will take place. WWE recently trademarked a number of in-ring names so it will be interesting to see which name Starks will be given in the next chapter of his career.
Ricky Starks Officially In WWE Following Long-Awaited AEW Exit
Ricky Starks was finally released from his AEW contract on February 10th, the same day as Miro and Malakai Black. While Starks did win the FTW and Tag Team Championships while in All Elite Wrestling, he has been absent from TV for the best part of a year, last competing in March 2024. Starks stated in previous interviews that he had no idea why he was not being used and fans made it clear that they wanted to see the Absolute wrestler back in the ring.
Starks did make numerous independent appearances during his time off TV.
