Miro Leaves AEW

Miro is the latest wrestler to leave AEW with his departure and removal from the roster page now being confirmed.

Miro is the latest departure from AEW.

On Monday, February 10th, fans noticed that the former TNT Champion had been removed from the roster page, generally an indication that a wrestler has left the promotion. As reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Miro and AEW have come to “a mutual agreement” to allow his exit from the company to take place. The news comes just hours after Malakai Black officially left AEW and was also removed from the roster page. It was reported in late 2024 that Miro had asked for his release but his contract was not due to expire until the spring of 2026.

It should be noted that Ricky Starks has also been removed from the AEW roster page, but no reports have indicated that Stacks has exited the company. Starks has been off TV for the best part of a year but has no idea as to why he has not been used. The former Tag Team Champion has made appearances for independent promotions throughout 2024 and early 2025 and recently defeated KENTA to win the DEFY World Title.

Miro In AEW

The former Rusev was released from his WWE contract in 2020 as part of the very first round of COVID roster cuts that took place over the course of the pandemic. Making his AEW debut in September of that year, the Bulgarian wrestler was first revealed to be Kip Sabian’s best man for his upcoming wedding to Penelope Ford. Following the break-up, Miro went on a singles run that saw him defeat Darby Allin and win the TNT Championship, holding the title for 140 days.

Following a lengthy absence in 2022, the former TNT Champion returned on the debut episode of Collision in June 2023. Miro competed in 7 matches that year and defeated Andrade at Worlds End, which was Andrade’s final match in the company. The now former AEW star did not compete in 2024 but did note on social media that he had been dealing with an injury.
