Rick Boogs has broken his silence regarding his WWE release.
Boogs was one of many Superstars who were informed that their services are no longer required on Thursday, September 21st.
Speaking on his vlog, Boogs has stated that the reason behind his release was political and will elaborate on his thoughts in the future:
“It’s been an interesting time in my life with my job in WWE being terminated due to a backstage political powerplay, at least that’s my opinion of it, but now is not the time to talk about that. I will get into detail about that when the time is right. It’s not time, but when I do and can speak freely, it’s going to be juicy. I’m talking about all the nitty gritty details.”
First known as Eric Bugenhagen in NXT, Boogs would debut on the main roster in May 2021. Boogs was frequently seen on stage with guitar playing Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme as Nakamura made his entrance. Boogs and Nakamura teamed on multiple occasions, with their WrestleMania 38 tag team match against The Usos being the most high-profile match.
Unfortunately, Boogs suffered an injury in the WrestleMania match, which put him on the shelf for a number of months. Boogs returned as a solo performer in January 2023 making occasional appearances.
H/t to Fightful.
