Ric Flair Files $10 Million Lawsuit Over Claims He Was Duped Into Signing Away His Likeness

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has launched legal action against FAM Networks after he was allegedly duped into signing his likeness away for money that never materialised.

As reported by The Independent, the 77-year-old former pro wrestler was promised a six-figure monthly revenue stream in exchange for ownership of his image and likeness. According to the lawsuit obtained by The Independent, Flair spent more than 40 years “building something… through his body, his blood, his pain, his persona, his craft, and his commitment to excellence at a level that only sixteen world championships can describe.” Flair is seeking damages totalling $10 million.

Flair’s complaint also claims that FAM Networks “pounced” at the opportunity to take advantage of Flair. The document alleges that Flair was presented with the deal with no lawyers present, and was only given 14 minutes to make the decision. Flair signed the deal and is yet to receive any payment. The Nature Boy also stated in the complaint that this is only the start of things to come for the agency:

“The Nature Boy is not finished,” the complaint states. “The case has just begun.”

Ric Flair “Wants To Bury” FAM Networks

Speaking to The Independent, Flair is looking to “bury” the people at the network, while also claiming that he has lost out on more than $250,000. It should be noted that The Independent also attempted to send multiple messages to FAM Networks, but all came back undeliverable. Additionally, the website contact form was deemed unoperable.

The report also discloses a copy of the contract presented to Fleir, real name Richard Morgan Fleihr. Flair opened the email at 5:57 on December 5, 2025. Fourteen minutes later at 6:11, the document was signed. A quote from the complaint details the lack of counsel Flair had during this time:

“In those fourteen minutes, without the benefit of legal counsel, without a single attorney reviewing a single word on his behalf, and in direct contradiction of a contractual recital FAM itself drafted declaring that the agreement had been negotiated with counsel, Mr. Fliehr surrendered an irrevocable, perpetual, sublicensable license over his name, image, likeness, voice, accounts, and commercial identity – throughout the universe, without restriction, in all languages, formats, and media now known or later developed.”

FAM Networks promotes online influencers and sets them up with corporate deals. For Flair, he was offered numerous appearances with 90% of the proceeds going to him. The company also claimed it would restore the former WWE Champion’s “hacked, demonetized” Facebook page. However, according to the complaint, FAM Networks did none of these things, and enriched itself “by as much as $20,000” off the Facebook page while paying Flair “next to nothing.”

The network then took control of Flair’s Facebook page, meaning that his team were unable to access the account. It is then claimed that FAM allegedly “entrench itself in a position from which it could demand a ransom for his own property’s return.”

Flair is seeking “at least $5 million for breach of contract; compensatory and punitive damages of at least $5 million for fraudulent inducement.” No trial date has been set at this time.

Recognised as having 16 World Championship reigns by WWE, Flair is regarded as one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all time. Known as The Nature Boy, Flair have been involved in numerous business ventures follwoing his 2022 retirement, which have included being the face of WOOOOO! Energy and a cannabis company, the latter alongsiode legendary boxer Mike Tyson.

In 2024, it weas reported that a Ric Flair biopic could be in the works.
