Are AEW going to have two distinct rosters?
With the company having an unfortunate history of backstage incidents and weekly programming expanding with the launch of Collison, it has been expected that Dynamite and Collision will have their own exclusive rosters.
While AEW President Tony Khan has stated that a roster split would not be taking place immediately, a new report from Fightful Select has provided more information on the matter.
The report states that around a month ago there were initial plans made to have certain roster members exclusive to either Dynamite or Collision, with there being exceptions made for certain wrestlers, such as the champions of AEW.
In terms of the reaction to the news from the wrestlers, it has said to be “mixed.” Some talent believe that this will make them miss out on independent wrestling bookings and signings, while others believe this will prevent further backstage dramas.
Warner Bros. Discovery, who broadcast all AEW programming on their networks, have reportedly said that they would prefer there to be no roster split at all, but are open to ideas.
AEW Collison saw the long awaited return of CM Punk, who will likely be predominantly featured on the Saturday show, while The Elite will be seen on Dynamite.
