CM Punk has officially returned to All Elite Wrestling.
Similarly to the August 20th 2022 episode of AEW Rampage, Punk opened the debut episode of Collision to a positive ovation from the Chicago crowd, with boots wrapped around his neck and a mysterious red bag in hand.
With a microphone in hand, many were curious at to what the former AEW World Champion had to say given the infamous circumstances that took place at the All Out media scrum.
CM Punk began by stating that he was tired of being nice, and is still in AEW despite being on the shelf with a torn triceps for 10 months.
Wasting no time, Punk was aware that he does make people uncomfortable, but it is becasue he tells the truth and the truth hurts.
Repeatedly asking the live crowd to tell him when he is telling lies, Punk moved on to taking jobs at The Elite. First referencing The Young Bucks, Punk stated that he was the real deal in an industry of Counterfeit Bucks:
“You know what David Zaslav calls me?… ‘One Bill Phil.’ That’s because I am the one true, genuine article in a business of counterfeit Bucks…”
With some wrestling fans still angry about the Brawl Out incident, there was a possibility that Punk was going to issue an apology over what happened in September 2022. In his own unique way, Punk did issue an apology:
“You want an apology? Here it is. I’m sorry that the only people softer than you are the wrestlers you like.”
On top of the opening promo, Punk was in action in the main event, teaming with FTR to defeat Juice Robinson, Samoa Joe and Jay White.
