A former WWE star who was part of the latest round of releases may be back with the company, albeit not in an in-ring capacity at this time.
On May 2 and 3, multiple stars from the main roster and the developmental brand were either cut from their contracts or informed that they would not be renewed when they expire. One of the names on the list was Shayna Baszler, who previously found success as the NXT Women’s Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion. Although Baszler is close to becoming a free agent as her 90 day no compete expires in early August, The Submission Magician may already be back in the company fold.
As reported by Cory Hays of Bodyslam, Baszler was listed as one of the producers on the July 8 episode of NXT, which was also the final edition of the Tuesday night show before Evolution on July 13. The report stated that Baszler produced the Kelani Jordan vs. Lainey Reid match alongside Oney Lorcan.
Prior to her release, Baszler competed sporadically on the main roster along with multiple appearances at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport while under WWE contract.
