The final edition of AEW Dynamite before All In: Texas, the July 9 show saw multiple face-to-face segments, vehicular destruction and more!
Ahead of putting her Women’s Championship on the line against Mercedes Mone at All In, “Timeless” Toni Storm confronted her challenger one final time. If Mone defeats Storm at All In, she will hold all the women’s gold in AEW. Additionally, MJF and Mark Briscoe met face to face ahead of their involvement in the Casino Gauntlet match.
With Adam Page set to face Jon Moxley for the title in the main event of All In, both men were part of a chaotic 8 man tag match in the main event.
Excalibur, Tony Schiavone and Taz were the commentary team for the show.
AEW Dynamite Results July 9
- Mercedes Mone made her entrance for the final face-to-face with Toni Storm. Storm initially appeared on the big screen but later appeared live. Storm stated that Mone was a fraud, to which Mone retorted that she was simply better than Storm. Following more insults exchanged, Mone tried to cheap shot Storm, but Storm got the upper hand and Mone fled.
- Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Flecther defeated Brody King and Bandido.
- Ricochet defeated Blake Christian.
- MJF and Mark Briscoe met for their “Talky-talk”. Briscoe anticipated that his late brother Jay would be brought up, to which MJF responded that he would not disrespect Jay. MJF then stated that it should have been Mark in the car accident instead of Jay, prompting a brawl between the 2. The Hurt Syndicate tried to save MJF, but were attacked by JetSpeed and The Patriarchy.
- Megan Bayne defeated Queen Aminata, Thekla and Tay Melo to qualify for the Women’s Casino Gauntlet match.
- Samoa Joe defeated Wheeler Yuta. Gabe Kidd attacked Joe after the match, only for Katsuyoi Shibata and Powerhouse Hobbs to make the save.
- Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and The Young Bucks defeated Katsuyori Shibata, Will Hobbs, Will Ospreay and Hangman Page. The assault continued after the match until Swerve Strickland distracted The Young Bucks by destroying their limo with a digger. The Bucks fled to the back and Samoa Joe helped the faces stand tall. The Bucks were attacked by Strickland in the parking lot.
