A former WWE star has made their shock arrival in TNA, much to the surprise of fans.
During the latest round of Impact tapings on June 20th, Cedric Alexander made his arrival in the promotion by preventing Mustafa Ali from taking out his former associate John Skyler with a steel chair. Alexander stood with the rest of Order Four to close out the segment. Ali had grown increasingly frustrated with the rest of the group, in particular as Tasha Steelz for continuously texting “him.”
The segment was aired on the free tier of the TNA+ service as part of a sneak peek ahead of the show being broadcast on AXS TV on June 26th.
Alexander was released from his WWE contract back in February. The former Tag Team Champion publicly announced his release on social media as opposed to the news being broken by another outlet.
Former WWE Star Cedric Alexander Now In TNA
The arrival of Alexander was somewhat surprising to many. During his time in WWE, the former Cruiserweight Champion was a part of The Hurt Business Faction alongside Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin and MVP, all of whom are now in AEW and have reunited as The Hurt Syndicate. As soon as news broke that Alexander had been released, fans believed that it was an inevitability that he would also become All Elite as a new member. MJF recently joined the group after weeks of persuasion. Lashley and Benjamin are also the current AEW Tag Team Champions.
During an interview with Chris Van Vliet back in March, Lashley and MVP said the following about the possibility of Alexander signing with WWE and joining the faction:
MVP: “I believe he is still on his 90 days.”
Bobby Lashley: “We love Ced, he’s like our little brother, so we will see what happens.”
Alexander also spoke with Van Vliet after his release, and stated that reuniting with the group was something that he was very interested in doing:
“100%. That’s a big chapter of my career that I really felt was never fully explored and I think it’ll be great to finish that out.”
